Upon earning his Bachelor of Arts, Maxima Cum Laude in 1973 he graduated from law school at the University of Notre Dame (J.D. 1976) where he was Associate Editor of the Law Review. He has been consistently ranked as one of the top trial lawyers in South Florida by the South Florida Legal Guide. That firm was the genesis of each successive firm in which Mr. O’Connor served as President and Managing Partner. In 2002 he left O’Connor, Chimpoulos, Restani, McAllister and Marrero, P.A., a firm of 17 attorneys, and opened his current practice. Throughout his career, Mr. O’Connor has remained intricately involved in serving the community in the fields of government service, education and Bar activities. In addition to serving as Mayor of Miami Shores, he has served on various public service and charitable boards and committees. He is a graduate of Leadership Florida Class VIII. He recently concluded his term as a Commissioner appointed by Governor Bush on the prestigious Judicial Nominating Commission for the Third District Court of Appeal.
